Well ,  Rumors are flying from both parties involved , but the net result is The Prospector will NOT be racing in Calgary for the AHRA this Fathersday.

In a most unusual move the AHRA cancelled the event with 13 days to go.  The AHRA says the track did not meet its contracted obligations, the track says AHRA never paid.

All though we had many calls from AHRA leading up tot he event, we have yet to here from anyone involved that it has been cancelled.  The result is the same either way for us. Not only are we disappointed to miss the event , we are out some revenue now as well.

We apologize to our fans, sponsors and friends/family who expected us to be in Calgary , and hope that this unfortunate and unprofessional situation does not effect the opinion of our sport or  our team.

The AHRA also booked us for a race in Ashcroft BC later this summer.

Some good news!   Edmonton annual Rockies is on its way June 25- 27 .

There is going to be a 8 car AA/FC show down. DO NOT miss this one. click the logo above to get your tickets.

  •   Things are looking great for Spokane Raceway.  Some real racers are looking after the place, and they have put a top notch manager in to keep things running smooth. We are looking forward to

July 29 - August 1  NORTHWEST THUNDERFEST . More info as it comes

Hi all, just dropping a note to let everyone know that after a long winter off season, the MFR super crew brought out Mageau Family Racing's Prospector (s) for some pre event testing this past weekend.

The weather was perfect for racing and Castrol as always gave us a good surface to test on.

The crew worked hard Saturday working some bugs out of the clutch and new fuel system .

Sunday , we decided to test the Prospector aa/fuel altered first. It ran pretty much like an Altered should, and tried to kill a few cones.

Next up ( after a great turn- a- round by the crew), we put a safe tune up in the Prospector '78 Stingray AA/FC . The car ran straight down Broadway 6.3 @ 222 shut off run. A post race inspection showed everything is just perfect, so we are ready to go!

Our next Event is the AHRA reunion tour event June 19 and 20 at Race City Speedway , Calgary AB, followed by The IHRA Nitro Jam Rockies at Castrol Raceway , Edmonton AB

We are un-retiring the Beautiful Prospector "57 Chevy funny car after 2 years for the Calgary event, and will be running our sleek Prospector Stingray at the Edmonton Event.

Hats off to our crew for working hard and making the car right, we look forward to seeing all of our sponsors, friends and fans at both of these events! Don't miss them!

Important Notice!

Effective immediately , Mageau Family Racing  will no longer use any products , display any product decals, or refer any racers to use any Stroud Safety equipment.

After a situation and subsequent discussion with Bob Stroud, we were unsure as to his integrity, honesty, and his ability to use due diligence in dealing with our safety equipment.

It is our belief that these are not the qualities we are looking for in a manufacturer of safety equipment and will take our business elsewhere.

Now is the time to contact us about sponsoring the team and doing some marketing magic for your company! We need you and have some great opportunities available

We currently have one opening on the crew.  We are looking for somebody with experience in nitro , nostalgia nitro, AA/Gas,  top alcohol or pro mod.  Experience around race engines ( hemi) and or clutches/ lencos and asset. We plan to run 6 - 8 events this summer around the div 6 area.  The new crewmember should be from the greater Edmonton region.  We work one night a week  and the odd Sunday during the off season, then one night a week and race weekends in the summer.
The new member must be committed,  a team player, positive, like hard work, and love our sport.
We cover travel expenses, race entry etc.  No salary. We do this for the love of the sport!

If you love nitro, like to work hard with a fun natured team, like the odd beer with the boys, email us.  jay@nitrofunnycar.ca

We have a great core group of guys, just need one more to round us out!
